The Story

About Smoked MeatFest

Great barbecue, good people, and a cause worth gathering around.

Smoked MeatFest started in 2020 as a small backyard gathering around smoked meat, good friends, and the idea that the best meals are shared ones. From the start, it was about real barbecue, real community, and creating something that felt worth coming back to year after year.

What It's All About

Smoked MeatFest is built around the tradition of doing barbecue the right way: taking the time, respecting the process, and creating an atmosphere where people can slow down, eat well, and enjoy the day. It's not just about serving food. It's about bringing people together around smoke, fire, meat, and community.

We're not doing this to raise money for ourselves. We're here to bring people together, serve great barbecue, and do a little good while we're at it.

Giving Back

After the cost of putting on the event is covered, any proceeds are donated to Louisa County Animal Shelter to help support local animals in need. Every rib served, every plate shared — it all adds up to something good right here at home.

The Venue

Today, Smoked MeatFest is still hosted at a private residence, and that setting is part of what gives it its character. It feels personal, welcoming, and real. Guests aren't just showing up for barbecue — they're coming for the experience, the tradition, and the kind of gathering that's been built one year at a time.

What's Next

The long-term vision is to keep growing without losing what made Smoked MeatFest special in the first place. The hope is that one day the event will move to a larger venue so more people can be part of it — while still preserving its identity, personality, and roots.
